The Gwinnett County Music Teachers Association sponsors the Music Day festival every November. The purpose of this festival is to encourage study and to provide an opportunity for students to perform and receive an evaluation of their performance and cash awards. Proceeds from Music Day are used to provide funds for scholarships and to support the budget.<\/p>\n

Registration Deadline: Submitted online by Friday, October 16, 2026<\/p>\n
Registration Fee Deadline: Zelle payment or Postmark by Wednesday, October 21, 2026<\/p>\n
In-Person Performance Date: Saturday, November 14, 2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Virtual Performance Submission Deadline: Tuesday, November 10, 2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n For virtual performances, a \u00a0<\/span> filled-in rating sheet and print copy of the music must be provided to Kathy Dawal by Saturday, November 7, 2026<\/p>\n Zelle payment to events@gcmta.org or mail checks\/payment to Nancy Morris, 3125 Dogwood Creek Pkwy, Duluth, GA 30096.<\/p>\n Entry Fee: $25.00 per student plus $10.00 each additional instrument<\/p>\n Please click the link for further details and to place your lunch order.<\/p>\n Students may be entered in either category. It is an individual choice, not a studio choice. Registration is the same for all students, and registration fees are the same for in-person and virtual performance. Teachers will register individual students using the online registration form on which the virtual or in-person option will be selected for each student.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You will receive an emailed registration receipt for each individual student. You must keep this receipt. You may use the Edit link on the receipt to make any changes to your registration up until registration closes. Make sure that you have a receipt for each student registered. If you do not, after checking your spam\/junk file, contact Kathy Dawal.<\/p>\n Once registration is closed, and up to the Wednesday before the event, in-person students may switch to virtual. Contact Kathy Dawal to arrange. Virtual students cannot switch to in-person after registration closes.<\/p>\n Students must bring their Silled in rating sheet and their music, with measures numbered, to the event. Sharing music is only allowed between siblings and should be noted on the registration notes. All other students must bring their individual scores. Music may not be left at check-in\/out. Please observe current CDC and MTNA copyright guidelines.<\/p>\n Students should record a video of each of their pieces separately. Additional instructions will be emailed to participating teachers. A filled in copy of the rating sheet and print copies of the music with measures numbered must be provided as instructed above.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n THERE WILL BE NO SUBMISSIONS ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE.<\/p>\n All submitted materials will be forwarded to the<\/p>\n virtual j<\/span>udges, who will evaluate the performances and make their decisions by Music Day.<\/p>\n All rating sheets, certiSicates and prizes for both in-person and virtual performances will be included in the teacher\u2019s folder which will be available at the conclusion of Music Day.
